Back in the swing of things

01/20/2010

Hi my name is Meg and I am a slack blogger. *hanging head* Yeah, so, for the three of you out there that actually read my blog—Mom, Dad, and Hubs :)—you may have noticed that it has been a whopping two months since I last updated. That does not mean that I have not been baking my little heart out. I have been baking away the past two months, but I just have not had any time to post to my blog.

Since my last post, I have been to Disney World and GA for a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family. When we got back home, I had to go back to work for the first time in a month—year round schools are awesome!! Once I was back in the swing of things, it was time to get going with Christmas. Is it just me, or does it get here faster and faster every year?!? Shopping, wrapping, cleaning, decorating, baking, more wrapping, working—aahh! We were so busy, that I barely had time to breathe.  My parents cams to spend Christmas with us again this year. We had so much fun with them here, but we were still go, go, go. I was so glad that they were here for two weeks because the first week is spent getting Christmas dinner and baking all put together. I loved having the time to just hang out with them. We had such a good time, that neither one of us knew what to do with ourselves when they were gone. Our house seemed too quiet with just the two of us. But, we can’t live on vacation forever, can we?

With the holidays over and the house and us back to our normal routines, I can finally get back to baking and blogging. Work can drive me nuts sometimes, but baking is truly my passion. It definitely takes me to my happy place of calm.  I love to create new things and watch it all come together with the whip of the mixer. That would be one of the reasons why I love the TWD group. It totally forces me to try things that I would never have tried. I tend to stick to things that I am comfortable with.

I am so excited to see what this year brings for me and my husband. I think that it will be an adventurous year full of new and exciting things.  I am also excited to see what new things I can bake.  Each time I try something new, I get more confidant. I love the idea of putting all of these ideas down in the recipe bank for the one day bakery!
