Banana Berry Smoothie

I love smoothies. They are creamy and fruity and cool and refreshing. And, generally, they are loaded with fat and calories. Some have added sugar, ice ream and lots of  not-so-good-for-you extras. The smoothie places taste great, but are not great for you. Hubs and I are getting in shape and eating healthy. In the spirit of making things healthy, I went  for a healthy smoothie. Fruit, milk and ice. Can’t get much fresher or healthier.

For this smoothie, I used blueberries, blackberries and bananas. I added a cup of skim milk and ice at the end.

Toss all of the fruit in the blender.

Give the fruit a whirl in the blender until it is smooth and mixed together. Add in a cup of skim milk and as much as as you want.

When it is all blended up, it is a bright purple color and deliciously smooth and fruity. Yum.

This may be my new food obsession. I loved it so much and it is totally good for you. I had one tonight for dessert and made one for my breakfast tomorrow. The banana and the berries mixed so well together. It has a fresh and bright flavor that is perfect for spring and summer! Enjoy!!
